The 5G connectivity is going to allow you to download in a matter of seconds it is over 10 times faster than 4G.
Over the years brands like Infinix, Samsung, Tecno, and Xiaomi have rolled out 5G devices in Nigeria. Some Nigerians don’t need to upgrade to a 5G phone because they own one already. However, if you are using a 4G device you need to upgrade or buy the 5G router to enjoy the speed.
How to get a 5G Router in Nigeria
The 5G router is offici ally available on the MTNs official Portal. You can get it on pre-order for free, but you have to pay 50,000 Naira
or $73 if you want to pick it up. There are also a number of 5G routers that are available on Jumia and Konga they are even cheaper than that MTN. The official MTN router is going to support all the available 5G broadband the network will offer. You have to make sure that any third-party 5G router you buy officially supports the MTN 5G broadband available in Nigeria.
For those that want to use 5G on their phone, you might have to upgrade to a 5G sim card from the MTN network. If you recall we had to upgrade our MTN sim cards to 4G when it was made public in Nigeria.
